My Blue Heaven

So, I remixed Vaughn DeLeah's "My Blue Heaven" into 5.1 surround, on a system with stereo speakers. I made 2 versions. The DVD files are rendered and ready to burn. It was small enough to fit on my thumb drive! I also have the AC3 files on it too, in case I run into issues with my prerendered files, and also so I can check what it sounds like on a 5.1 system before I burn the damn thing.

Honestly, I like how the mix sounds when crunched down to stereo (I listened to it probably about 20 times so far), let's hope I still like it in true 5.1...

Schizophrenic-half-assed movie making

So, Underground has fallen down the rabbit hole for various reasons right now, and up take it's place on the productions slate is a brand new short loosely based off of an old idea I never got around to making. It can go a couple different ways, so it might end up another segment of the Otaku Project, but then again, it might not. The basic idea is there, but not the ending...

Today

New footage will be shot today for Underground, and I'm still revising the script... Scene transitions are confounding me, adn I haven't even storyboarded this scene, so, unless I do it on the train in a few hours, I'm probably gonna have to frame it on the fly.

I love shooting, I doubt I'd have this project any other way (or at least this scene)

Worry

I know there is no such thing as originality, especially in my case since I'm adapting a famous story, and there are only so many titles one can call it and still reference the original. Granted, this one seems to be more of a sequel, versus mine uses the book as a jumping point. Not to mention, this version uses anthropomorphic characters, while in mine there are only humans (and figments, I suppose).

I want to see this, and I wish them success, but I worry people will accuse me of ripping them off, or titling my piece in a manner meant to leech of their potential popularity.

I wonder though, why do so many interpretations of the Cheshire Cat seem wrong to me? Disney's annoys me, Dark Wonderland's downright pisses me off, I like American McGee's, John Tenniel's is ok, Hallmark's is ok, and I only like Barry Moser's smile without a cat drawing.

I guess that's why I choose to forget about using anthros and instead only use humans.

PANIC!!! (mk. II)

Deadlines are slowly sneaking up on me, the month is 1/3 gone or so already. I have obtained the first part of the props for Underground's Mad Tea Party scene, but truthfully, as I've realized, that I may want to take existing footage and rework it in with new footage. Most importance would be to shoot the new opening.

Intro, Cheshire cat, mad tea party, explanation. The order that they happen in, and the order of importance to reshoot.

What's kinda funny is the end bit which is supposed to explain what the hell happened is the least important part in my mind, and the easiest to abstract well (I hope).

It's odd though, I keep bitching about how people take massive liberties with Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, yet my rendition has gone further away from Carroll than the other versions, I think, since the Matrix is more about Jesus than Alice, right?

random musing

Each self is actually composed of two selves. The self that is observed, and the self which observes. My self is composed of 3 selves, the self that is observed, the self which observes, and the self that observes my work being observed. This third self is self loathing.
